During my time in The Simple Sum, I produced a bunch of animated explainer videos for an online content platform with the purpose of helping Gen Z and Millennials make better personal finance decisions.

This includes explaining basic concepts like budgeting to more complicated topics like, ‘CPF’ and even reading stock charts. Presented here are some of the works produced.
Spooky Savings Machine
Inspired by MJ’s iconic thriller song, my co-producer and I decided to do a fun and ‘spooky’ spin of one of the company’s better performing comic. Through rhyming words, gooey graphics and a scary instrumental, we created a short 2-minutes video on building a mega-powerful savings machine. This video was produced in time for Halloween 2020.

Your CPF, EXPLAINED!
One of the first few videos produced, originally meant for our audience on IGTV. Which was later, published on the brand’s youtube channel. To explain the ever so ‘confusing’ term that every Singaporean has to eventually come face to face with. Together with the content lead, we produced an explainer video by trying to tell a story from a third person’s POV. Now what exactly happens when you turn 55?

Reading Stock Charts
A 2-part series explaining how to read google stocks charts. Meant for first-time investors who are curious about what each part of the chart means.

How to Feel Less Guilty About Spending Money
First ever animated explainer video done for the brand. Explaining a very simple budgeting concept called, ‘Sinking Funds.’
